Trash to Treasure Party - Part 1

Everyone loves to find treasures for free. While that concept sounds a little too good to be true, that is exactly what I am preparing to do. I’m headed to a Trash to Treasure party that is sure to be lots of fun and I get to shop for free!
This is the brainchild of a family member who was spring cleaning and came across items that were just too good to pitch in the garbage but yet her need for them was over. This particular family member is always looking for reasons to get the crowd together, so a Trash to Treasure party was a seamless fit. All of the women in the family have been invited to bring their items that have worn out the welcome in their own home, to the gracious host’s home. While there, we will shop from each others treasures. I say “shop” loosely as it is more of a trade. We will bring what we no longer want and leave with new treasures.
The Trash to Treasure party makes financial sense and we are sending less to the landfill. In addition, I managed to get a few closets cleaned out while searching for items to bring. One family member said she loves experimenting with hair products and I knew I had a few that did not work for me. They were only used twice, so I’m taking those. I’m also taking several home décor items that are in perfect condition; I just changed the style of a room.
This party concept can be used with several variations. This time, we’re bringing any item we choose and are not restricted to a theme. But for a different twist, you could invite co-workers to trade purses or accessories during lunch. The ladies at church could get together and trade inspirational or devotional books. A group of moms can have a toy or book swap. Moms with children on sports teams or in Boy Scouts can swap outgrown uniforms and equipment. The ideas are endless.
