Thursday Thirteen: Great Children’s Books

Growing up, I knew that every birthday and Christmas would bring with it a new and wonderful book. I was blessed with an aunt who worked at a library in downtown Chicago and in bookstores. She had her eyes on all the fabulous books that were out there and always knew the best books. She would only choose books with great writing and illustrations.

This tradition has now been passed down to my children. Each birthday and Christmas, an Aunt Gloria book arrives in the mail for them. This is an exciting event in our home. And inevitably, her gifts turn out to be the most loved and read books among our children. You know, the books that can be recited by heart by everyone in our family. So, here is a list of 13 magnificent “Aunt Gloria Books.” I highly recommend each and every one of them.
