Super Surfing Saturday: Face Time with the Kids!

supersurfingsaturday Super Surfing Saturday: Face Time with the Kids!

Since our August “End ‘08 Great” Challenge is Face Time with the Kids, I thought I’d post my short list of ideas that may help you find ways to spend quality time with your children over the next month.

  1. Read together. Need some ideas for great books? Check out these sites for inspiration.
  2. Cook together. You’re probably already preparing meals, so why not have your child help you. Kids Cuisine has wonderful ideas for cooking with kids. Make sure you bookmark their site! And of course, Food Network (one of my favorite sites) also has tons of great information about cooking with kids.
  3. Letterbox together. Clicklhere for a brief description of letterboxing If you’ve never heard of it. (I wrote a post describing my family’s first time letterboxing here.) Letterboxing can also lead to crafting together, such as making rubber stamps and log books. Just don’t tell your kids letterboxing is also educational!
  4. Take pictures together. Grab a camera, go on a nature walk, and take pictures of the kids…or have them take pictures of you! Your kids might even like to learn a little bit about photography before you go.

  1. These book lists look so fun! My mom would always search for the “Medal” books when she would take us to the library when we were kids. Thanks! :)

  2. Amazing, you keep targeting areas in our life that need attention. Brilliant. Thankyou.

  3. Okay, I have the challenge in mind. I have started…..
