Scrumptious Sunday Swap - Hot Fudge Cake
This is one of those desserts that I don’t make very often because we would eat way too much of it. However, it is a favorite with my husband and I like to surprise him with it on occasion. Sometimes I’ll even make it just for the two of us after the kids are in bed. That way, I can have a little bit and he can splurge on most it by himself. (Honestly he would eat the whole thing if it was presented to him!)
Hot Fudge Cake
- 1 c. flour
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 6 T. baking cocoa
- 2 t. baking powder
- 1/4 t. salt
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 T. oil
- 1 t. vanilla
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 3/4 c. hot water
1. Combine flour, sugar, 2 T. cocoa, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk, oil and vanilla until smooth. Spread into ungreased 9-inch pan.
2. Combine brown sugar and remaining cocoa. Sprinkle over batter and pour hot water over entire pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
Delicious when topped with ice cream or Cool Whip!

LOL! at your hubby eating the whole cake if it was presented to him. What is it with a man and his chocolate?!? My hubby would be the same way! I was amazed that he shared his king size Snickers bar that I got him for Valentines with co-workers the other day!
I’ve actually left my BFF’s recipe for pretzel salad (we share a blog so I don’t think she’ll mind!) But it’s one of my favorite summery desserts but I’ll eat my weight in it any time of the year! Yum.
This looks yummy; I think I too would be tempted to eat more than I ought. Thanks for sharing!
Since I left one recipe from my BFF, I thought I better leave one of my own as well :).
Sounds great! I made a lemon loaf on the weekend with delicious icing and we ate the entire thing in 24 hours!
That sounds great!! I’m going to play along. I better get busy posting a recipe!!!
We already use this recipe and we LOVE it!! In our house anything chocolate is great!
