Introducing Amy from Mom’s Toolbox
We are very excited to introduce you to our next guest blogger, Amy, who blogs at Mom’s Toolbox. Our very own Toni, who happens to be Amy’s sister-in-law, has recently been encouraging Amy to try out some new appliances in the kitchen (like a breadmaker and slow cooker), so Amy’s been eagerly taking her advice and has faithfully blogged about her experiences at Mom’s Toolbox.
Amy’s blog is full of wonderful encouragement and Bible studies following the SOAP method. I have learned so much from reading her posts and have begun to apply this method in my own prayer time. I know you’ll be blessed and inspired by spending some time with Amy.
Amy writes:
I’m Amy and I live in the suburbs of Houston, TX, along with my husband and three kiddos, ages 2, 5 and 7. I’m a mini-van driving stay at home mom who managed the PR for a children’s museum prior to becoming a mom.
I was inspired to begin blogging by one of the Three Moms, Toni, who is my brother’s lovely wife. I am privileged to call her sister, as she is an amazing woman. I’ve learned a lot from her about my Savior, my role as a homemaker and even my role as a mom.
My blog offers a real-life look into my life. Each day I post my observations from my daily devotional using the SOAP format (scripture, observation, application, prayer), as well as anything else that I may be tackling that day. My goal for my blog is that I might inspire others to be honest with themselves and others about their own journeys… journeys with
the Lord and journeys here on earth into motherhood and/ or homemaker. Becoming a mom and homemaker was a challenge for me. I’m hoping my blog can serve as a sounding board for other women to become better homemakers, better moms and better disciples of Jesus Christ.I’m in charge of the kitchen over here, but my husband is always willing to lend a hand. I typically do our menu planning for the week Sunday night or Monday so I can make a weekly shopping run Monday, picking up a few things mid-week as needed. Typically we have 2 nights that the kids eat with our sitter, but we eat together the other 5 nights of the week. I have just re-joined Weight Watchers in an effort to lose 10 pounds, so I am particularly interested in serving healthy meals to my family.
Thank you for your willingness to open your kitchen to all of us, Amy. We are looking forward to spending the week in your kitchen.
If you are interested in participating as a guest blogger for this 3 Moms feature, please leave us a comment or send us an email at 3moms@happytobeathome.net. We are looking for a variety of women willing to open their kitchens for one week to all of our readers. You do not even have to have your own blog in order to participate.
