Ingredients and Directions for Crepes

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. milk (or 2/3 c. powdered milk and 1 1/3 c. water)
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 4 T. butter, melted
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 t. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 t. maple extract
  • 1/4 t. salt

Combine all ingredients and whisk until smooth, or mix in a blender. Melt 1 t. butter in a skillet. Pour 1/4 c. batter into the center of the skillet, and lift and tilt skillet to spread over entire bottom. Cook until lightly browned (the top will start to look dry, especially around the edges). Flip and cook another 45-60 seconds, or until browned.

Ingredients and Directions for Bananas Foster Sauce

  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 t. cinnamon
  • 1/2 t. nutmeg
  • 3 bananas, halved lenthwise and sliced
  • 2 t. vanilla or rum extract

Melt the butter or margarine over medium heat. Add the brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir well. Cook until the consistency of a thick syrup, about 5 minutes. Add the sliced bananas and cook for 3-5 more minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla or rum extract.

*This sauce is perfect over crepes, but it is also delicious over oatmeal, waffles, pancakes, or ice cream.
