Conquer the Clutter Challenge - Week 3

conquer-the-clutter Conquer the Clutter Challenge - Week 3

Can you believe we are already entering week 3 of the End 08 Great July challenge? We hope that you have all been encouraged and inspired as you’ve gone about the task of Conquering Your Clutter.

Out of clutter, find simplicity. ~Albert Einstein

When you are tempted to give in to feeling overwhelmed with clutter, will yourself to spend just 5 minutes working at it. In those 5 minutes, do nothing but throw away everything that can be thrown away. I’m always amazed at the amount of stuff I keep that really is just garbage - whether it’s medicine that has expired or envelope inserts from bills. After that 5 minutes, you may be encouraged and decide to forge ahead. If you’re not, that’s okay too. I bet you’ll realize that even in 5 minutes you’ve made a remarkable amount of progress.

Here’s a little overview of some clutter conquering that’s been going on around here lately:

  • Angela at Testosterone Palace has been working on a “stuff”-filled bookcase in her computer room.
  • Emily at Organic Change is getting ready to join the challenge as her family prepares for a move.
  • Felicity at The Voice of FMLL has been conquering her office nook and bathroom cupboards.
  • At Not Your Average Soccer Mom, Brandy did a fantastic job conquering the clutter in her garage, beautiful views and all.
  • Debbie at Homemaking Dreams has been really getting at all of her clutter. She also has passed along some fabulous tips.
  • Alicia at Right Wing Mom is conquering the clutter in her AMAZING school room/office. Seriously, you have got to see how great this room is!
  • Susan at A Happy Heart at Home will be spending the month decluttering her living and dining rooms.
  • Karen at For Such a Time as Now has also joined the challenge and we are looking forward to seeing her progress.
  • Schotzy at Wings of Eagles is excited to be conquering her clutter, especially in her basement.
  • And at Green Mountain Girl’s Adventures, she and her husband are planning on working on a room that has been a catch-all of sorts so that it can become a livable space.
  • Heather at Drivel and Whatnot will be working on her linen closet, garage, dining room table (catch-all), craft and game cupboards, photo cabinet and her filing system.
  • Toni at The Happy Housewife has finally joined the challenge. This week she is working on the school room.

  1. Can we do conquering the clutter when the growing season is over? ACK! I am spending so much time in the garden the garden, I have no time to conquer the clutter in my house, let alone keep up with the cleaning! Oi!
FYI, watch this week for my new blog design, it is super nicey nice!

  2. My husband and I spent a half our in our basement and got rid of boxes and boxes of stuff. We put it out by the curb a few days before garbage day and all but a few things got snatched up. We cleared our clutter and hopefully helped someone else out with things they needed.

  3. I did a little clutter conquering over at my place. :)

  4. My bathroom cupboards are done! And done in record time too - yay!
