Conquer the Clutter Challenge - Week 1

Let’s start conquering that clutter! Here’s what we’re undertaking this week for the challenge.

  • On Toni’s personal blog, The Happy Housewife, she is conquering the residual move-in clutter. She has posted her before pictures.
  • On Joy’s personal blog, FiveJs, she is conquering some old clutter on top of a dresser, as well as some kitchen cabinets. She has posted her before pictures.
  • On Kate’s personal blog, A Simple Walk, she is conquering some little, but lingering, areas that really need clutter-control.
  • Debbie is cleaning out anything in her house that isn’t nailed down. You will be impressed with her thoroughness and willingness to toss things that are cluttering her life. She also a has a few tips for us as well.
  • Felicity is conquering her workspace, it already looks great to me, but she is going to reduce clutter, file, organize and more. I look forward to seeing her after photos.
  • Susan is conquering all the “stuff-that-belongs-somewhere-else” clutter in her living room and dining room. It will be fun to follow her progress.
  • Angela will be conquering all of the “stuff” in her computer room. She has already made some headway and has a good plan in place for the rest.

    Okay. I have decided on my project.
    I have a bookcase in our computer room that collects my “stuff”. Some “stuff” needs to move to my office in my classroom; some “stuff” needs to filed; some “stuff” needs to be tossed, etc.

    So….
    my first step in decluttering this area was to go through all the receipts that have accumulated there, and file them in the appropriate place. That much has been done.

    Next, I will return items to school, and relocate a portable DVD player to its rightful spot (along with the box of accessories!).

    Then I have a pile of magazines to deal with…..
