Waterproofing basement walls for moisture protection

If your home is under the age of 15 years, the concrete slab was probably poured onto a polyethylene membrane for protection against soil moisture. In older homes, however, the lack of protection under the slab will require you to build a false floor if you need a minimum of comfort.
In most new homes, the foundations have been waterproofed from the outside with two layers of liquid tar prior to backfilling walls. This measure normally offers good protection against the natural moisture of the soil. However, if your basement shows signs of water leakage or seepage from walls or floor after a rain, you must think for Basement Waterproofing.
It is easy to seal small cracks by injecting epoxy; it is otherwise a general oozing. It may be a malfunction of the foundation drain or improper waterproofing the wall if your home has more than 15 years. You will need to dig foundations and identify if you want to solve the problem once and for all. This is delicate work when the field has developed a landscape, but there are specialist firms who possess the required equipment. It is also possible that the slope directs runoff toward the house.
