Bulk Cooking With A Cooking Club ~ Pt. 8

I’m sorry for the delay in getting this information posted.

Last time, I gave you tips for preparing for the big grocery trip to Sam’s Club. So now it is time to hit the store.

Here is the grocery list I used for this bulk shopping trip:

Fresh Produce ~ Estimated total: $60.91

  • Zucchini (est. $6)
  • Onions (10 lbs. - $4.40)
  • Green Peppers (6 ct. - $4.58)
  • Carrots (5 lb. - $5.44 x2 = $10.88)
  • Garlic (2 lb. - $2.88)
  • Mushrooms (18oz. - $4.88 x2 = $9.76)
  • Russet potatoes (10 lb - $4.86 x2 = $9.72
  • Red potatoes (10 lb. - $5.86)
  • Tri-color peppers (6 ct. - $6.83)

Breads ~ Estimated total: $10.10

  • White hamburger buns (16 ct. - $2.02)
  • Hoagie rolls (est. $5)
  • Tortillas (20 ct. - $3.08)

Meats ~ Estimated total: $99

  • 15 lb. chicken breasts ($1.97/lb. = $29.55)
  • 8 lb. ground beef (est. $25)
  • 5 lb. ground turkey (est. $14)
  • 5 lb. Italian sausage (est. $15)
  • 4 lb. tilapia (est. $15)

Canned, etc. ~ Estimated total: $61.39

  • 6 lb. penne ($5.37)
  • 6 lb. spaghetti ($5.64)
  • Tomato sauce (12 pk. - $6.86)
  • Diced tomatoes (8 pk. - $5.88)
  • Salsa (64 oz. - $5.42)

Dairy/Frozen ~ Estimated total: $59.61

  • Frozen spinach (est. $5)
  • Pie Crusts (est. $6)
  • Shredded mozzarella (5 lb. - $8.67 x2 = $17.34)
  • Shredded cheddar (5 lb. - $8.79)
  • Cream cheese (6 / 8 oz. - $5.88)
  • 18 ct. eggs ($1.72 x2 = $3.44)
  • Frozen corn ($4.88)
  • Parmesan cheese ($8.28)

Estimated Final Total: $291.01

**I took advantage of the “Click-N-Pull” page of the Sam’s Club website to find the total prices of many of these products. Those that were not listed on the website, I estimated. That is denoted with (est. $…)

All of the items in the above grocery list made this Bulk Cooking With A Cooking Club meal plan. There were a few pantry staples used also.

You may notice that a few things that weren’t on the original list made their way in our cart. Most of them were substitutions for other things that weren’t available on the day we shopped.

After the big cooking club shopping trip, there is some cooking day preparation work involved. I’ll tell you all about that next time.
